The functions of the Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority include:
Acquiring, leasing, and operating housing projects
Providing for the construction, reconstruction, improvement, alteration, or repair of any housing project or any part thereof
Constructing, remodeling, or renovating any public building or other facility used for public purposes provided requested to do so by the governing body
Arranging or contracting for the furnishings of services, works, or facilities for or in connection with a housing project or occupants thereof
Investing funds held in reserves
Investigating into living, dwelling, and housing conditions and into the means and methods of improving such conditions
Making loans and grants for the prevention and elimination of slums
Investigating and reporting to appropriate agencies of any building or property where conditions exist which are dangerous to the public health, morals, safety, or welfare
