Organization Information

A Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) is a private, nonprofit organization that meets certain legal, organizational, and capacity-specific qualifications prescribed in the HOME regulations. HOME funds are provided to Danville Pittsylvania Habitat for Humanity and Southside Outreach Group, a nonprofit organization and approved CHDO, to purchase and/or rehabilitate houses within Danville city limits. The houses are then sold under the Affordable Homeownership Program.
