Update: Time correction to 1:15 pm

Danville Fire Department was dispatched to a small brush fire on Riverside Dr. this afternoon at approximately 1:15 pm. When units arrived they found two large areas on a steep hillside were involved and proceeding upward toward houses at the top of the hill. Three engines and a ladder unit fought the fire for about an hour and none of the structures were involved, and there were no injuries. In all about one half acre of area burned. One west bound lane of Riverside Dr. was closed during the operation.
