The Danville Office of Economic Development & Tourism (DOEDT) announced that the VA250 Mobile Museum Experience, an immersive, hands-on “museum on wheels,” will be on display at the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History (DMFAH) May 21-22, 2025.
Tilted, “Out of Many, One,” this interactive exhibit is housed in a quad-expendable tractor trailer and celebrates the history of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the Revolutionary War, and the independence of the United States in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Admission to the Mobile Museum is free and open to the public.
“It is an honor to be designated as liaison to work with the VA250 Commission and members of our Local VA250 Committee as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the Revolutionary War, and the Independence of the United States in the Commonwealth of Virginia,” said Lisa Meriwether, DOEDT Tourism Manager. “These exhibits will kick-off the work of our local committee in conjunction with the statewide initiative of the VA250 Commission and I am deeply grateful for the support from Sonja Ingram, Executive Director, and her team at the Danville Museum of Fine Arts & History for hosting.”
In addition, the DMFAH will also host a month-long traveling exhibit, “Give Me Liberty & The Forging of a Nation,” from May 20 - June 30, highlighting key events and figures from the Revolutionary era.
Sonja Ingram, DMFAH Executive Director, shared her excitement, "The Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History is proud to host the VA250 Mobile Museum and the Give Me Liberty exhibit. These two exhibitions offer a compelling look at Virginia’s pivotal role in the fight for American independence, its leaders, and post-Revolutionary Virginians who helped shape and expand the ideals of liberty.
